interviewer

Jimmy, firstly we'd like to welcome you as our latest Dafabet Ambassador. We're all big snooker fans here - so to have the 'People's Champion' on board for the forthcoming snooker year is a privilege to us and the Dafabet players.

Especially with the first tournament of the year being the Dafabet Masters, which we are title sponsors for the second year - Which of course is a tournament you know well.

Jimmy White

Well it's great to be joining the Dafa team, I hope I can give the Dafabet players some insight to the game I've loved since I first looked through a Snooker Hall window as a young lad. Yes I know the Masters well, it's the best invitational tournament there is. I won it back in 1984 and while many know it was Terry Griffiths I beat in the final, I fondly remember the Semi-Final I won against my good friend Kirk Stevens who hit a maximum 147, which was only the third time it had been achieved on television and the first time ever at the Masters which was a record that stood for 23 years!

interviewer

Yes that Semi-Final is still known one of the best games and greatest sessions of snooker there's been, it was great to see the two of you playing the game how many like to see it, with risks being taken and some fantastic breaks. Not forgetting your response of 119 to Kirk's maximum to win the match, that even Kirk was applauding with some of the great shots you played. What was your favourite moment of the tournament and who was the toughest opponent that year?

Jimmy White

I would have to say Kirk was my toughest apponent that year, he was playing the best snooker of his life having just produced the 147. It was a pleasure to watch and be involved in.

interviewer

You also of course had one of the best comebacks in the Masters, in 2005, when you came back from 5-3 down in a best of 11 against Matthew Stevens when needing 2 snookers. How was that for you? with again a final frame of some exhibition snooker – you really did get the crowd going!

Jimmy White

The crowd is the most fantastic in London and the atmosphere is electric. It is a special place to be and the crowd's support would always spur me on to take more risks and enjoy the snooker. The Matthew Stevens game was a great comeback that year along with my very close match against Ebdon.

interviewer

So looking to this year's tournament, who are your ideas of the finalists and who do you tip to win? We will of course ask the same question after the first round when you've seen who looks in form. We'd be sure current Champion, your good friend Ronnie O'Sullivan has to be well fancied?

Jimmy White

Yes you'd have to fancy O'Sullivan after his tremendous performances at the UK and Champion of Champions. He is still getting better and better and on form is unbeatable. Trump, Selby & Robertson can or course give him a run for his money.....!

interviewer

Ok, so let's look at the first round matches, how do you see them going and what scores would you predict for the Dafabet punters to back?

Jimmy White

Mark Selby v Shaun Murphy 6-4/6-3 to Selby
Stuart Bingham v Marco Fu 6-3/6-4 to Bingham
Judd Trump v Stephen Maguire 6-3 to Trump
Neil Robertson v Robert Milkins 6-1/6-2 to Robertson
Ronnie O'Sullivan v Ricky Walden 6-1/6-2 to O'Sullivan
Barry Hawkins v Ali Carter 6-3/6-4 to Carter
Mark Allen v John Higgins Close one to call 6-5 to Allen
Ding Junhui v Joe Perry 6-3/6-4 to Ding

interviewer

Ok thanks Jimmy and we looking forward to bringing the Dafabet players, exclusive interviews throughout the tournament.

Shaun Murphy 6-5 Mark Selby

interviewer

So Jimmy what a game to start off this years Masters with a thrilling 6-5 win for Shaun Murphy over current World Champion Mark Selby.

What were your views?

Jimmy White

A fantastic match that I believe Shaun should have won earlier 6-3, at 5-3 he missed an easy black that would have done it.

So to clinch the match in the last frame showed great character. Especially with Mark Selby's fantastic comeback after being 5-1 down.

Marco Fu 6-3 Stuart Bingham

interviewer

Game two will hit the news for certain we're sure of that Jimmy, what's your thoughts?

Jimmy White

Well the 147 by Marco has to be the news of the game and didn't he do it well. Doing it in practice is one thing, but in a tournament environment you can 'snatch' at shots.

He didn't and on day one of this year's Dafabet Masters we saw a maximum - that's what it's all about!

The game still needed to be won and all credit to Marco for regaining his composure and finishing the game off.

Stephen Maguire 6-4 Judd Trump

interviewer

So Jimmy it's Stephen Maguire through to the second half, it looked like Judd Trump was cruising at one point.

How did you see the game?

Jimmy White

Yes Judd was cruising at 2-0 up, it should have been 3-0 had he not missed the pink off the spot with two reds left. While it wouldn't have been Snookers required had he got that I think it would have been the game.

Credit to Maguire for holding in and going onto to win.

Neil Robertson 6-4 Robert Milkins

interviewer

Jimmy it's world number one Neil Robertson who progresses, did he make hard work of it?

Jimmy White

Well to be fair, what a start from Milkins opening with a 94 break to make a statement. The game then was very tight with Robertson levelling and the game going to an fro reaching 4-4. In the end Robertson showed his class with a century in the 9th that accelerated his game, that helped him cross the line with the win.

Ronnie O'Sullivan 6-4 Ricky Walden

interviewer

Jimmy it's your good friend Ronnie O'Sullivan through to the next round. Plus equalling Stephen Hendry's record of 775 century breaks on the way.

What did you think?

Jimmy White

I think Ronnie struggled with the pace of the table, really he should have won 6-3 but Ricky got the snookers needed.

Now he's won though I think he'll relax and go onto to win the tournament.

Equalling Hendry's record is fantastic, I'd be certain he breaks the record this week.

Ali Carter 6-1 Barry Hawkins

interviewer

Jimmy, what a comeback game for Ali Carter - how did you see the game.

Jimmy White

Well as soon as Ali was announced to the crowd, everyone including myself, was on their feet to give a standing ovation after he has been given the all-clear from lung cancer.

Mark Allen 6-4 John Higgins

interviewer

Jimmy, Mark Allen advances to the next round after a high quality game. What were your views?

Jimmy White

Yes it was a great game with three century breaks in the first three frames as John went into a 2-1 lead.

They then went at each other to make it 3-3 before Mark took two frames to go 5-3 up.

Then we almost saw a second 147 for the week when John was on route until a shot went short to the yellow. Had he made the maximum I think he'd have went on to win. Unfortunately he never and Mark got across the line.

Thursday 13:00 GMT Ronnie O'Sullivan (Eng) v Marco Fu (HK)

Jimmy White

Ronnie wasn't at his best in the first round but I think the win has settled him and he will come out stronger.

I'm going for 6-3/6-4 for O'Sullivan.

Thursday 19:00 Ali Carter (Eng) v Neil Robertson (Aus)

Jimmy White

The whole arena was up for Ali Carter in the first round and didn't he respond!

World number 1 Neil Robertson may have more match practice but I'm going to go for Ali who was very solid.

I'm going for 6-4/6-5 for Ali in a close game.
I'm going for 6-3/6-4 for O'Sullivan.

Friday 13:00 Joe Perry (Eng) v Mark Allen (NI)

Jimmy White

Joe Perry impressed when beating Ding in the first round with a very solid performance. However I think Mark Allen was potting well in his win against John Higgins.

I'm going for Higgins 6-3/6-4

Friday 19:00 Stephen Maguire (Sco) v Shaun Murphy (Eng)

Jimmy White

Murphy surprised a few people beating current World Champ and last years runner-up Mark Selby. This will be tougher, I'm going for Maguire who was solid an strong in practice.

Maguire 6-3/6-4.

Joe Perry 6-3 Ding Junhuio

interviewer
Jimmy, Joe Perry takes the last spot in the quarter-finals. Is that a result you expected?
Jimmy White

No, I thought former champ would progress. But then you have to remember that Joe Perry had Ronnie O'Sullivan under pressure in the Worlds and the short format appears to have suited him here. It was as solid performance and he deserved his win.

Ronnie O'Sullivan 6-1 Marco Fu

interviewer
Jimmy, we witnessed history just now when Ronnie made his 776th career century break to break Stephen Hendry's record. How did you see the game?
Jimmy White

Yes what an achievement and I'd expect him to get at least 900 in total.

He was exceptional today and never really gave Marco a chance.

It's this sort of form what makes the rest of us just scratch our heads wondering how to beat him.

Neil Robertson 6-1 Ali Carter

interviewer
Jimmy, Neil Robertson joins Ronnie O'Sullivan in the semi-final, what did you think of the play?
Jimmy White

Well Neil isn't current world number 1 for nothing and didn't he do it well.

I'd been watching Ali in practice and he's potting solid. He was great against Barry Hawkins but here against Neil he never had a chance such was Neil's pot success rate.

It now means a fantastic semi against Ronnie which could well be seen as a final!

Mark Allen 6-4 Joe Perry

interviewer
Mark Allen progresses after the longest game of the tournament so far. What did you make of it Jimmy?
Jimmy White

Yes it was a scrappy game for sure. If Mark Allen wants to get through his semi-final he will have to raise his game another level. However when you win a scrappy game like that, it's quite possible that he can do.

Shaun Murphy 6-4 Stephen Maguire

interviewer
So Jimmy, Shaun Murphy took the last semi-final spot by beating Stephen Maguire. What were your views?
Jimmy White

Well Stephen got off to a great start hitting a 137 break in the first frame then taking the second frame handily.

But credit to Murphy who never panicked and brought it back to 2-2. I think it really could have went either way, but Murphy was more consistent and came through a deserving winner.

Ronnie O'Sullivan v Neil Robertson

interviewer
Jimmy White

This match is worthy of a final and I think it will be a cracking game.

I have to favour Ronnie though as he's playing very well as we saw in his quarter. I have also been watching him in practice and he's playing solid snooker.

Neil did very well against Ali Carter and had a great pot success rate, but it's Ronnie to make the final for me.

I'll go for 6-2/6-3

Mark Allen v Shaun Murphy

interviewer
Jimmy White

This could go either way but I'm going to favour Murphy as I don't think Mark Allen was playing so well in the quarters. Now he could raise his game, but on evidence of what I've seen this week it's Murphy who appears to be more solid so he's my pick.

I'm going 6-3/6-4

Neil Robertson 6-1 Ronnie O'Sullivan

interviewer
So Jimmy it's Neil Robertson to take the first final place with a fantastic performance, how did you see the first semi-final?
Jimmy White

Well I never saw that coming for sure. Credit to Neil for a great performance, he came right out out of the blocks with a century break in the first frame.

Ronnie should have won the second but missed what would have been a frame winning black, Neil then cleared up. Then at 3-0 you could see him very confident in his game that was solid.

Asides from the last frame in the first session that Ronnie won, you have to say it was all Neil.

In this form you'd have to favour him against whoever he plays in the final. For those who've backed him you just have to hope he hasn't peaked too soon.

Shaun Murphy 6-2 John Higgins

interviewer
So Shaun Murphy joins Neil Robertson in the final after beating John Higgins. What were your views on the game Jimmy?
Jimmy White

Well John started very well to go 2-0 up, then Shaun raised his game to win 6 on the bounce to win the game.

Now the question is can Shaun get that last leg of the triple crown?

Neil Robertson v Shaun Murphy

interviewer
Jimmy White

It's a repeat of the 2012 final that Neil won 10-6. Much is said about whether Shaun can win the Masters as it's the one leg of the triple crown he's yet to win. Of course he can and he probably will win it at some point.

Unfortunately I don't think it will be this year as Neil Robertson has been very solid. The current world number 1 is playing very well right now and I can't see him losing.

I will even go for a repeat of the 2012 final of a 10-6 win for Neil.

Whatever the result I'm sure it will be a great match.

interviewer

Jimmy, it's been a few weeks since the Dafabet Masters when Shaun Murphy blew Neil Robertson away in the final.

Did you ever expect to see such a landslide win considering how Neil had played in the run-up to the final.

Jimmy White

It was a fantastic win for Murphy who then carried his form well into the Berlin Masters were he made the final beating O'Sullivan on the way.

In the final he was beating Selby 5-2, and playing great snooker.
The interval probably came at the wrong time as it allowed current World Champ Mark Selby to get his head together and comeback to win.

Selby is one of those players who never gives in and him and Shaun are good pals as well.

I was in the studios with Eurosport watching the final with Ronnie O'Sullivan who had commented how well Shaun had played against him – and let's be fair Ronnie knows the game!

interviewer

How's your form been lately, as we know you're working hard on a return to the Crucible this year for the World Championship.

Jimmy White

I'm in trouble at the minute as I've just fell out of the top 64 in the world and am in 66th.

I need to stay in the top64 for the tour, I'm on my way to Poland for a PTC tournament where I hope to do well to get back into that top64, I'm confident I will.

I then go the Blackpool for the shootout and the World Seniors, whilst practicing for the World's qualifiers.

Practice is great I'm hitting the ball well. I hit breaks of 131,134 an 114 in three frames on the spin last night in an exhibition in Newcastle for Macmillan Trust.

So hopefully I can bring that form to the tournament tables, if so I'm sure I'll be back to the Crucible which is the aim for this year.

interviewer

What did you make of the Welsh Open that John Higgins has just won for a record fourth time, he obviously likes Cardiff.
And what about Ben Woolaston making his first ranking final?

Jimmy White

Higgins returned to form for sure, I think in the final he simply had too much experience for young Ben.

Yes he definitely likes Cardiff, is funny you can have lucky places, tables even – I know I used to as a youngster when playing some side games for a few quid!

Ben Woolaston is a very dedicated player and has a bright future, he'll be around for the next 10yrs at the highest level.

He just needs experience which he will get. He seems very level headed so best of luck to him.

interviewer

What's the next event on the calendar and what's your thoughts?

Jimmy White

Well the World's is what everyone is focused on, practice is starting - Or in my case planning for the qualifier.

It really is the pinnacle of the year for everyone, as to walkout in the Crucible is what all snooker players want. It really is the spiritual home of the game.

I've been speaking to some of the other players as we do and everyone has one eye in April already.

interviewer

Finally Jimmy, We know you're a big Chelsea fan and are friends with a few of the players including captain John Terry – how do you think they've been going recently, will they keep their lead in the English Premier League and lift another title?

Jimmy White

It was a slip up against Burnley for sure but listen Mourinho knows what he's doing.

JT has had a great season and looks as good as ever, us old guys can still turn the clock back.

I'm bias to Chelsea but I do believe we are worthy favourites and I do think we'll be lifting the title in May. Well I hope so for sure.

list
interviewer

So Jimmy the draw has been made for the World Championship Qualifiers at Pond's Forge, where your bid to return to the Crucible begins on Saturday.
What are your feelings on drawing James Wattana who we know you're good friends with.

Jimmy White

Well when the draw came out I just thought it was mad as 1, he's a very good friend of mine and 2, we're likely to be playing an exhibition game in Thailand later in the year that Dafabet players can attend. I've known James for most of my career and get on very well with him.

But come Saturday and we get down to playing, well I can't say it's war but you know what I mean, it's a competition and I want to reach the Crucible as no doubt he does. It's going to be a tough game.

interviewer

How's your form?

Jimmy White

I'm playing well, solid snooker which is what I need. I've been hitting some nice breaks, practicing routines and in general really putting the hours in.

It means that much to return to the Crucible, it won't be for the lack of trying that's for sure. I've even been hitting the gym and swimming, which has surprised some of my pals!

interviewer

The draw hit the news with ten-time ladies champion, Reanne Evans entering and drawing Ken Doherty, what's your thoughts about that?

Jimmy White

I simply wish her the best of luck and hope she does well. But in drawing Ken Doherty a former World Champ - well the draw hasn't done her any favours at all.

I'd expect Ken to win if I'm honest as I know he has also been practicing hard as he wants to return to where he had his biggest win.

interviewer

Well Jimmy, all of here at Dafabet wish you the very best of luck and hopefully we'll be speaking again before you play the winner of Matthew Selt v Lyu Chenwei who will be next up if you beat James Wattana.

Jimmy White

Thanks and god bless, I'm trying to take the games one at a time – but it's fair to say if I can get the 3wins and get back to the Crucible it will be a very proud moment.

interviewer

So Jimmy first and foremost we're very sorry you never managed to qualify for the Crucible, your bid started so well when in the first qualifier you beat your good friend James Wattana 10-3.

Jimmy White

Yes the game started slowly for me and I went 2-0 down, the at 4-3 up I won 6 frames on the bounce to win and I felt I was playing very well.

interviewer

And then the 2nd qualifier and the Matthew Selt game.

Jimmy White

Well I just don't know what happened I was playing really well in the early session and was 7-2 up at the interval, come the evening session I should have went 8-2 up, didn't and Matthew started his comeback winning the first 4 frames. I then got one to make it 8-6 in my favour, then I can only say I simply got tired missed some shots that annoyed me, and well he won another 4 frames and that was it.

I need to go away and perhaps get more fit, as I really don't think it was my 'game' that was the problem. I'll be back next year to try again.

interviewer

So the first round draw has been made and here are the games, can we have your score predictions for each game and at this early stage your prediction for a winner?

Jimmy White

For a crazy outside shot Maplin as he's a huge price which will be cut drastically if he beats current champ Mark Selby in game 1, but realistically I have to fancy Ronnie O'Sullivan. Here are my predications for the first round matches, best of luck to all who have a bet.

1st Round Matches

Mark Selby v Kurt Maflin 10-6 either way
Stephen Maguire v Anthony McGill 10-7/10-8 Maguire
Joe Perry v Zhang Anda 10-5/10-6 Perry

Barry Hawkins v Matthew Selt 10-8/10-7 Selt
Mark Allen v Ryan Day 10-8 Either way
Ali Carter v Alan McManus 10-9 Either Way
Neil Robertson v Jamies Jones Robertson 10-5/10-6
Ding Junhui v Mark Davis 10-8 Either Way
John Higgins v Rob Milkins Higgins 10-6/10-7

interviewer
Jimmy White

Quarter Final Predictions

Anthony McGill v Shaun Murphy

interviewer
Jimmy White

Well you have to admire Anthony McGill, he comes through Rd 1 on a deciding frame then beats defending Champion Mark Selby round 2 and he deserved it. I can't see him getting past this year's Dafabet Masters winner Murphy though.

I predict 13-8, 13-9 to Murphy.

Barry Hawkins v Neil Robertson

interviewer
Jimmy White

Hawkins has struggled somewhat earlier in year but has been great here, that said Robertson is simply more consistent – I predict 13-8, 13-9 to Robertson.

Ding JunHui v Judd Trump

interviewer
Jimmy White

No doubt Ding Junhui has been popular with Dafabet's Asian players – I think this is the best year he's had at the Crucible since losing in the Semis a few years back. He appears to be fresh, so I'm going 13-9, 13-10

Stuart Bingham v Ronnie O'Sullivan

interviewer
Jimmy White

I simply think Ronnie is a different level here and is looking very solid - so 13-6, 13-7 to O'Sullivan is my prediction.

Semi-Finals Predictions

interviewer
Jimmy it's fair to say the Quarter-Final's threw up some shock results, with both Ronnie O'Sullivan and Neil Robertson being knocked out. What did you think?
Jimmy White

Jimmy – Yes two big shocks for sure. To be honest while Ronnie missed a few shots showing he is only human, I never thought Bingham was as good as I witnessed he played fantastically well, amazing infact. If he could get to that level consistently he'd win an awful lot more titles. That's what we all strive for as players, consistency – but it's easier said than done.
Robertson going out was somewhat more of a shock whilst I was watching though, as when Hawkins is 7-3 and Neil gets it back to 8-8 I'd have been sure with the swing of the game that Robertson goes on to win – but credit to Barry who then shook it off and kicked on again.

interviewer
Dafabet – Well here are the Semi-Finals, so what are your picks?
Jimmy White

Shaun Murphy v Barry Hawkins - Murphy to win 17-11 or 17-12. I have to side with Murphy here as he's been solid all season, Hawkins has done great to get this far obviously but its Shaun for me.
Judd Trump v Stuart Bingham – Trump – 17-11 or 17-12. Well I've already said how well Bingham played in the quarters, but he doesn't do it enough. I thought Trump was like a Juggernaut against Ding in his quarter-final. So taking consistency in mind I'm going to go for Trump.

Final Prediction

Shaun Murphy v Stuart Bingham

interviewer
Jimmy White

Well we've reached the final and I guess the 'shock' is Stuart Bingham. To be fair that's only because he has beat Ronnie O'Sullivan an Judd Trump against the odds.

interviewer
Jimmy White

I'm having to side with Shaun Murphy though as he's been playing solid snooker for months now. He's playing like a player who believes he can't lose.

interviewer
Jimmy White

I'm going with Murphy 18-12 or 18-13. But whatever happens, may the best man win

JIMMY WHITE LIVE!

AT THE WORLD SERIES OF POKER

interviewer
Jimmy, So it's the World Series of Poker and you're flying the Dafabet colours, how's Vegas been so far, we've heard you've been in town for a few days?
Jimmy White

Yeah all's good, it's a great place to have fun, which I will after the tournament, but first things first - I've relaxed as I needed to get into timezone.
I got a few hours of pre-tournament practice in and am looking forward to the overall experience.

interviewer
How long have you been playing Poker?
Jimmy White

I've been playing Poker for 40 years. I played as a kid in the local Snooker club, it was part and parcel that a Snooker club always had a Poker room.

interviewer
Is this the first World Series of Poker you have played?
Jimmy White

This is my first World Series, although I played in a few Poker Millions and was lucky enough to win one in 2004. I managed to get some good cards so I was pleased with that!

interviewer
What do you most like about the game of Poker?
Jimmy White

Poker for me, you know, I'm just a very average player, but it's about getting paid off when you get the strong cards. It's much different in a cash game that it is in a tournament – you need to be in position alow more in tournaments than you do in cash games. I sort of know my way around now, but I wouldn't say I'm a great player."

interviewer
How do you prepare for a big tournament like this?
Jimmy White

Practice, practice practice! I've spent the last few days in the Casino's getting practice in on the tables.

interviewer
Tell us about your table draw for Day 1C?
Jimmy White

I'm on table 138 and there's a few rocks around the table, and there's a few open players, which makes the table exciting. I've played pretty steady so far and I'm up to 37,000 so I'm hapy with the way I'm playing so far.

interviewer
What's your plan moving forward for the rest of today, how do you navigate such a large field?
Jimmy White

The plan for the first day is basically just to survive and play proper hands. You need to be patient, we've played two hours so far but there are another 8 hours of play to go today so you must be patient.

interviewer
Tell us about how you've accumulated your chips so far?
Jimmy White

We started with 30,000, and I dropped down to 27,000 before I was dealt Pocket Jacks. Luckily the flop came Ace, Jack, blank so I managed to win a nice pot there. Since then I've put in a couple of bluffs and overall my cards have not been too bad.

interviewer
Tell us about your Dafabet team mate Shane Warne?
Jimmy White

I'm a big fan of his, it was a great pleasure to meet him. My daughter runs a little cricket company called "Mini-Cricket" and her husband used to play for Surrey so I've been involved in cricket for 10-12 years, so it was an absolute honour to meet him, what a great player and he turned out to be a really nice guy.

interviewer
Will we see you and Warnie at more Tournaments around the world in the future?
Jimmy White

Well, I'm an Ambassador for Dafabet, they sponsor a Snooker tournament called the Masters, which is probably the second biggest tournament. They've asked me to play in a few of the Poker events so if it doesn't clash with the Snooker, as I'm still on the main tour, I'll play in a few of them – that's for sure!

interviewer
So Jimmy, well done on making it through the infamous perilous 'Day 1' of the World Series.
Jimmy White

Well I'm happy if I'm honest as it was a hell of a long day, I can't remember the last time I sat st

JIMMY WHITE LIVE!

AT THE WORLD SERIES OF POKER- Day 2

interviewer
So Jimmy it's Day 2 for you, how are you feeling?
Jimmy White

I'm fresh, I played some snooker yesterday as I'm in a tournament next week, then had an early night - which in Vegas is hard to do

interviewer
Did you see Shane Warne yesterday who's also wearing Dafabet colours, he had a great day and ended with a great stack of 247k chips to go into Day 3 in a great position.
Jimmy White

Yeah the boy did well, very well. If I can get through the day I'll be happy, even more so if I can get through with anywhere near that amount.

interviewer
So Jimmy, you've bust out. What happened?
Jimmy White

I'm gutted, my first blind and I get a good hand in Ace King suited, that I couldn't really get away from. When the turn shows another Ace King (with a 10) and I'm relatively committed I had to stay in. Trip 10's took me out.

interviewer
Ouch, that has to hurt.
Jimmy White

It sure did, as it was early in the day I suppose it was either going to be a make or break to then kick on. On this occasion it was the 'break' scenario, but hey that's poker.

interviewer
So what's up next then Jimmy?
Jimmy White

Well I'll be sure to be watching Shane Warne who's playing Day 3 tomorrow and starting with a great 247k chips as he's also flying the Dafabet colours. Then I'm back to the UK ahead of back to the baize of snooker for a tournament in Israel.

interviewer
Jimmy as always, it's been a pleasure. Best of luck.
Jimmy White

Cheers, it's been a great experience and hopefully this time next year I'll go deeper in the tournament.

list
Dafabet
So Jimmy the football season is well underway and firstly we have to ask, what’s happening with your Chelsea team – a nightmare of a start?
Jimmy
Tell me about - I really don’t understand how unorganized we’ve been so far, disjointed isn’t the word. Hopefully Jose can get us back on track as it would be a disaster not to finish top-4 as defending champions.
Dafabet
So right now, who do you predict to be the Top-4?
Jimmy
City, United, Arsenal and hopefully Chelsea to squeeze into the top 4.
Dafabet
Can we have predictions for the Cups?
Jimmy
FA Cup – I’ll go Chelsea to potentially save our season. League Cup, United will take it serious so I’ll pick them. Champions League, Barcelona.
Dafabet
Back to Snooker – firstly Congratulations on beating James Wattana in Thailand in the Dafabet Exhibition game, what’s events have you got coming up?
Jimmy
Thanks, it was great fun and great to see my pal James, it was a good game that the Dafabet guests really enjoyed. As some of the Dafa team know I also played pool legend Efren Reyes in Manila, that was a nice win against a guy I’ve know many years. This weekend it’s strictly snooker as I’m playing a Qualifying event in Barnsley for the China International – that’s some difference Barnsley to China. Hopefully it goes well, my game is good so fingers crossed.

Dafabet
So Jimmy you’re in Gibraltar for the first ever tournament in the country the Dafabet Gibraltar Open. How’s it looking there.
Jimmy
I’ve played exhibitions here before, the Ex-Pat’s come out to support well so I’m looking forward to it. The venue is good so yeah, hopefully I’ll go well.
Dafabet
You’ve drew Jason Weston in the 3rd round, have you played him before?
Jimmy
Many times, like me he’s a seasoned pro. I’m happy with my form and hope to progress and hopefully present myself the trophy as I’m on the trophy presenting team as part of the Dafabet team.
Dafabet
How’s your form right now? We saw the UK Championship where the luck really went against you.
Jimmy
Yeah I lost 6-5 against Stephen Maguire and was very unlucky when Stephen fluked a red, but that’s snooker. I was playing very well to go 3-1 up, he then hit some good form winning 4 frames on the bounce to go ahead 5-3, I thought I was done. I then hit a good patch and fought back to level 5-5 – then the last frame and the fluke, well I was gutted at the time but at least he admitted it was lucky. I was happy with my play and showed I can compete at the highest level, hopefully I can get the luck this time around!
Dafabet
Well best of luck Jimmy, it would be great to see you lift the title.
Jimmy
Cheers, I’ll be trying for sure and thanks for not mentioning Chelsea!

Dafabet
Jimmy, Day 6 of the Masters the second day of the Quarter-Finals what did you make of the day?
Jimmy
Well I thought Thursday's Ronnie O'Sullivan game against Mark Selby was good, but the Judd Trump v Neil Robertson was even better. Judd won 6-5 in a game that saw 6 century breaks in eight frames, both players deserved the standing ovation they received.
Dafabet
Well done on calling that result the right way against the odds. What about the Higgins Bingham match how did you view that?
Jimmy
Stuart played well, he played some solid snooker and took the chances as they presented themselves. A deserved 6-3 win to be fair.
Dafabet
So it's Semi-Final day, first up is Judd Trump v Barry Hawkins what are your thoughts?
Jimmy
I have to side with Judd Trump from his performance yesterday, he was in great form. I'll go 6-4.
Dafabet
The evening game is Ronnie O'Sullivan v Stuart Bingham, who wins in your eyes?
Jimmy
I have to go with Ronnie as I tipped him from the start of the tournament. While I'm sure current world champion Stuart will be well up for this, I can't see past Ronnie.
I'll pick 6-2 and believe it will be a Ronnie O'Sullivan v Judd Trump in the final on Sunday.
Dafabet
Jimmy, what a game between Ronnie O'Sullivan and Mark Selby yesterday?
Jimmy
Yes it was fantastic, Ronnie was outstanding and that last frame is one that will be spoke about for years. Not many players can come from 70 points down in a frame to win, more so against Mark Selby. A great match with some top drawer long pots made.
The evening game saw Barry Hawkins beat Mark Allen 6-2 and Barry played very well, I expected a closer game.
Dafabet
So the first game Friday is Judd Trump v Neil Robertson, how do you see it?
Jimmy
Even though Neil Robertson beat Marco Fu 6-0 in his first round game, I'm going to side with Judd Trump to win 6-3 or 6-4.
Robertson is favourite to win but I think it's a far more even priced game. I'm going 'against the odds' and siding with the underdog.
Dafabet
John Higgins v Stuart Bingham is the last quarter final, who will make the semi-final.
Jimmy
I have to fancy John Higgins here as he's having a great season, already winning three ranking tournaments this season. He's probably the most consistent player at the moment. I'll go John to win 6-3 or 6-4 against the current World Champ.
Dafabet
Another great day's action at Ally Pally Jimmy, how did you see Day 4 then?
Jimmy
Yes the first game was very good, lots of high scores with John Higgins almost hitting a maximum.
Wenbo played well and can take a lot out of his Masters debut which I know he enjoyed.

The evening game saw Neil Robertson in great form to win 6-0 against Marco Fu, meaning the last two evening sessions we have saw 6-0 results.
Dafabet
So it's day 5 is the start of the quarter-finals and first up is Mark Selby v Ronnie O'Sullivan. How do you see it going?
Jimmy
Well Mark was excellent against Ricky Walden in his 6-0 win, while Ronnie was touch and go for a while coming through in the deciding frame. This could be tight but I have to side with Ronnie to win 6-4 or 6-5. I'm expecting a great game which could easily be a final, considering the calibre of the two players.
Dafabet
The evening game is Mark Allen v Barry Hawkins, what's your view?
Jimmy
Well the odds have Mark as a strong favourite, but I see it far closer than the odds suggest.
I can't call it and would expect it to go to a decider with whoever holds their nerves best winning. I'll pick 6-5 either way.
Dafabet
So Jimmy, Day 3 of the Masters, it was eventful for sure.
Jimmy
Yes it was, my good friend Ronnie O'Sullivan was made work hard to get past Mark Williams in a game that went all the way. It was a tight game that had the crowd on the edge of their seats.
Mark Selby meanwhile was in great form to get past Ricky Walden and has probably shown the best form so far this week.
Dafabet
So day 4 and the last of the first round games, first up is John Higgins v Liang Wenbo.
Jimmy
I'll go John to win 6-2 or 6-3 here as I think he'll be too strong for Wenbo. John is a huge Celtic fan and missed captain Scott Brown who was here watching yesterday.
Dafabet
Yes Scott was at Ally Pally for the first time and said it was a great experience.
How about the evening game between Neil Robertson and Marco Fu?
Jimmy
Well I remember Marco Fu hitting a maximum in his first round game last year.
While I think this will be closer than the afternoon game I have to side with Neil to win 6-4 or 6-5.
Dafabet
Jimmy, Day 2 how did you see it?
Jimmy
Well what a game the Maguire Trump was. I know I got the prediction wrong but it was a great game that both players played to a high standard.
After being 4-1 up Judd had to sit in his seat for some time when Stephen fought back to 4-4. Judd potted a great pink in the 9th frame which as far as I'm concerned was the game winning shot. He will take great confidence from this game and has to be watched now for the tournament.
Dafabet
So day 3, first up is your good friend Ronnie O'Sullivan against Mark Williams, we assume you're siding with Ronnie given you've picked him to win the tournament.
Jimmy
Yes for sure, we practised earlier at the venue and he's playing well. I'm going to go 6-1 or 6-2 to Ronnie.
Dafabet
What about the evening game between Mark Selby and Ricky Walden?
Jimmy
I have to side with Mark here, I'd say 6-3 or 6-4. In what could be a tactical affair.
Dafabet
So Jimmy a great first day of the 2016 Dafabet Masters and both your picks landed, well done.
Jimmy
Yes we saw some great action today that almost saw a maximum break by Stuart Bingham. And yes two bets advised and both won, I hope all Dafabet players won.
Dafabet
You did say that Mark Allen was your each way pick of the tournament, that was a brave call considering he was facing the defending champion Shaun Murphy.
Jimmy
Yes it was a fantastic match to open this years tournament. I think the frame lost on the three fouls and a miss at the stage in the match was a huge factor. To be fair though Mark Allen played better on the day and the two of them are great friends as you saw at the end and when Mark almost went in-off in the last frame.
Dafabet
So Day 2, the afternoon session has Judd Trump taking on Stephen Maguire, what's your thoughts?
Jimmy
I'll have to go against the odds and pick Stephen Maguire to win 6-3 or 6-4.
Dafabet
The evening session is Barry Hawkins v Joe Perry, how do you see that going?
Jimmy
This will be a tight game I think, I can't pick a winner so would advise backing 6-5 either way or over 9frames played in the match.
Dafabet
Hi Jimmy, so it's day 1 of the 2016 Dafabet Masters at Alexandra Palace. What's your initial thoughts.
Jimmy
Firstly may I wish you and all the Dafabet players a very happy new year and all the best of luck for 2016.
Yes here we are again for the Masters one of my favourite tournaments, a tournament I've been lucky enough to win. Ally Pally is a great venue, the fans are in for a treat this year.
Dafabet
So who's going to win the tournament in your eyes?
Jimmy
I have to side with my good friend Ronnie O'Sullivan who I've been touring with and playing numerous Dafabet exhibitions. People may think he hasn't been practising while not playing in tournaments. However I can assure that this isn't the case and recently he's been knocking century breaks for fun, so his form is good. It's a tournament he knows what it takes to win, given he's already won it 5 times. He's a worthy favourite.
Dafabet
How about some each-way value, who do you think could go well at a decent price for the value hunters?
Jimmy
Well, I always think this is a tournament that many can win, it's not the leading invitational tournament for nothing.
My each-way bet is going to be on Mark Allen, who is in good form and if he gets past Murphy his price will cut dramatically.
Dafabet
We saw a 147 on the opening day last year, will we see a maximum this year as its a good price for players?
Jimmy
Well we'd hope so, that's what we all want to see good attacking snooker. I'm going to say it's a big possibility.
Dafabet
So Day 1, Game 1 is defending champion Shaun Murphy against Mark Allen, how do you see this going?
Jimmy
I'm picking Allen on the handicap as my pick for the game.
Dafabet
Day 1, Game 2 is Stuart Bingham v Ding Junhui. It's a game we can't split, how do you see it?
Jimmy
My pick here is Bingham to beat Ding. Head to head Bingham is ahead winning the last 7 games on the bounce. Plus Ding is out of form. That's my bet of Day 1.
Dafabet
Thanks Jimmy we're looking forward to hearing your expert view each day.
